Drifting

My main problem with college is that my mind often drifts. I got some classes that are really interesting and they have no problem holding my attention, but it’s the vast majority of those other classes where I run into trouble. The other day when my humanities teacher was lecturing all I could think about was the new Ugg slipper for women. This had a lot to do with the fact that the two girls who were sitting in front of me were wearing these things, so instead of taking notes and paying attention, all I could think about was how many people it took to make these things. I started thinking about the material and the stitching, and whatever the souls of these things are made of, and before I knew it everyone was getting up to leave.

Now most people would think that spending an entire class pondering Ugg slippers and how they are created is a waste of time, but not me. The more I think about it the more I realize that I should probably end up working in some type of creative field. I just don’t really see myself getting up every day, putting on a shirt and tie, then sitting in traffic and going to a job that I don’t like. I would much rather spend my time designing surfboards or Longchamp bags. Now all I have to do is tell my parents about all of this.
